What sold on FineArtAmerica.com?

This is just a quick post about an image I recently sold on FineArtAmerica.com. Fine Art America is a platform where photographers can sell their work to be hung on a wall or printed on various household items. I try to focus on mostly selling wall art, but most of my work can be printed on things like mugs and tee shirts.

Market Street Bridge in blue light for Autism Awareness

This image is a photograph I made in April of 2018 while on a business trip with my wife to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

I mentioned before that I like to shoot at blue hour. In this case, it is definitely blue hour but there are no warm city lights to complement the blue tone of the sky. The Market Street bridge was bathed in blue light to recognize Autism Awareness.

I mounted my Canon 5D MIII on a sturdy tripod to make this image. I set the ISO to 100 and the aperture to f11. I find that f11 produces the sharpest images for the lens I was using. Your lens will be sharpest somewhere in that range, but you have to check yourself by doing a focus test. You can set up your camera on a tripod and shoot a book or other object with fine lines at various apertures. Look at the images at full resolution to find the sharpest setting.

After I set the ISO and Aperture, I had to adjust the shutter speed until the histogram showed I had the proper exposure. Then I put the shutter on a two-second delay and gently rolled the shutter release.

I think the image turned out well. I have sold huge prints of this bridge and microstock versions many times.
