I went to see a planetary alignment and a sunset broke out

As a landscape photographer, I frequently find myself in nature's beauty, but it never gets old. Being open to what is presented before us is a critical part of nature and landscape photography. It is important to appreciate and cherish the moments of beauty and wonder that come our way, without being limited by our expectations or preconceptions. Who knows what wonderful things we will discover if we keep an open mind and heart?

Looking to the west in Seaside Heights NJ just moments before Venus, the first of five planets lined up became visible.

Whether it's the gentle sound of waves crashing on the shore, the feel of sand between our toes, or the warmth of the sun on our skin, every experience can be an opportunity for growth and enrichment. And even when the world around us seems turbulent or uncertain, the beauty of nature and the ocean can give us a sense of calm and grounding.

So, on a recent trip to NJ, I drove over to the beach to watch a unique planetary alignment that happened right after sunset. I wasn't thinking  I should bring my kit, but I am so glad I did. I encourage you to take a camera with you everywhere you go. It does not have to be a professional kit, even a cell phone will do. You never know what you may stumble across. Whether it's a trip to the sea or a walk through the park, there are always opportunities to find joy, peace, and inspiration in the world around us.

The sun set that evening in perfect alignment with the old crabbing pier I had spent many hours at in my youth.

Nature has a way of rejuvenating and refreshing our souls, helping us to connect with the earth and appreciate its beauty.

Try to take notice of the small things you may overlook, like the way the sunlight reflects off a leaf, the sound of birds chirping, or the feeling of the breeze on your skin.

We often get so caught up in our busy lives that we forget about the simple pleasures that nature has to offer. So, take a break from your routine and spend some time outside. Take a deep breath of fresh air, feel the earth under your feet, and let your senses come alive.

In doing so, you may find yourself feeling more connected to the world around you, more centered, and more inspired to pursue your dreams. Who knows, you may even make an incredible photo that will remind you of that moment for the rest of your life. So, get out there and explore the wonders of nature!

By taking the time to enjoy the beauty and serenity of nature, we can find peace, relaxation, and a renewed sense of joy and wonder in life. So, make it a priority to connect with the natural world and experience all that it has to offer. Your mind, body, and spirit will thank you.

Spending time in nature has been linked to numerous health benefits. Research has shown that being in nature can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, and increase feelings of happiness and well-being. Nature has also been shown to lower blood pressure, reduce inflammation, and boost the immune system.

In addition to these physical and mental health benefits, time spent in nature can also inspire creativity, increase gratitude and appreciation for the world around us, and improve our ability to focus and concentrate.

So, whether it's taking a walk in the park, hiking in the mountains, or simply sitting outside and enjoying the sunshine, make sure to take some time to connect with nature on a regular basis. Your mind, body, and spirit will thank you.
